The dealership was built in 1963 and was first called Bill Yates Volkswagen, Porsche. In December 1993, Volkswagen of America purchased the store, renamed it Capistrano Volkswagen and managed the dealership's operations until June 1997, when Miles Brandon, the current owner, purchased the store from Volkswagen of America.
